The nursing students at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte have spent years dedicating themselves to rigorous study, long clinical hours, and countless sacrifices to achieve their dreams in the healthcare field. This journey is not only significant for each individual student, but also for their families who have supported them throughout this intensive educational path. Unfortunately, the current schedule for the awards and pinning ceremony does not accommodate the presence of many supportive family. 

 Many family members, coming from different parts of the state or country, find themselves in a challenging situation where they either cannot attend due to work commitments, having to travel to Charlotte multiple times or having to pay for a hotel in between the ceremony and the graduation date.  

The awards and pinning ceremony should be a time of celebration and togetherness, a moment where students can reflect on their accomplishments with those who have been instrumental in their journey.

Changing the date of the ceremony to align more closely with the graduation schedule would significantly alleviate the logistical and financial burdens faced by families as well as allow the students to fully enjoy the ceremony and feel supported.
