For many disabled bowlers, attending the Australian National Disability Championships is not just a tournament; it's a transformative experience that brings immense personal growth and joy. Over the years, these championships have provided a space where bowlers can work diligently on their NDIS goals, focusing on inclusion, social skills, and emotional development. Participants leave feeling empowered and successful, enriched by the happiness of reuniting with friends from across Australia, whom they meet annually at this cherished event. Walking into the bowling centre, they are celebrated as the stars of the event, boosting their confidence and sense of belonging.

However, the upcoming TBA Inclusion Championships, scheduled to be held at Keon Park Bowling Centre in Victoria, Melbourne from June 1st to 13th, 2027, threatens to overshadow this important experience. These dates directly conflict with the 38th Australian National Disability Championships in Suncity, an event faithfully held on the same dates for the past 37 years. This clash risks depriving our cherished bowlers of the unparalleled opportunities the ADTI Championships provide.

To avoid conflict and preserve the opportunity for bowlers to participate fully in both significant events, we propose that the TBA Inclusion Championships be rescheduled for six months later. This adjustment ensures that participants can engage in both tournaments, maximizing their development, enjoyment, and the unique sense of community fostered at these events.

We call upon the TBA and relevant authorities to recognize the importance of both championships and reschedule the Inclusion Championships to a later date. By doing so, we commit to supporting and promoting the inclusion, growth, and well-being of all bowlers, ensuring no one misses out on these wonderful opportunities.
