We all have seen the creaking in the latest sneak peaks for the new update, and we all have thought the same thing: "That's it?".

Check any reddit post on the matter and you'll see how underwhelmed the community is regarding the aesthetic choices that went into creating the creaking, don't get me wrong, we're not saying it's ugly, in fact, it's cool, but between the Warden and Groot's cousin, there is a lot to be desired.

Players have shared some exciting ideas already—like fog effects for the Pale Garden biome, differently-sized trees, or even bringing back fireflies to enhance the atmosphere. But those changes are for another discussion. Right now, this petition is focused on one thing: improving the Creaking’s design.

Mojang, this isn’t a complaint. It’s a chance for the community to share feedback and ideas to take the Creaking from “cool” to “incredible.” We know your design team likely went through numerous concepts, just as they did with the Warden. And yes, you felt you had to balance creepiness with cuteness in order not to give any toddlers nightmares.

(Seriously though, who thought the warden was cute?)

The Creaking has potential. Players have already started creating concept art that takes the current design to the next level, blending creepiness with the unique Minecraft aesthetic. And while we’re here, many of us hope this mob will also have a useful gameplay mechanic, rather than being purely for show, like the Warden.

(I went John Wick on that warden and only got a skulk catalyst...)

So many of us are hyped for this new direction Minecraft is taking, new mob mechanics and mobs that look like they came out of a horror game (an E-rated horror game of course) are what Minecraft has been missing.

Minecraft is heading in a great direction with new mobs and mechanics, and the community is excited about what’s to come. The Creaking could be an iconic addition, but we believe it could be improved before release. Below, you’ll find artwork contributed by the community, reimagining what the Creaking could look like.

Hopefully this art can offer inspiration for a model and appearance change, and maybe provide ideas for new mobs in the future!

We’re hopeful that Mojang will listen, just as they did when a petition successfully removed the mob vote. With enough community support, we can make the Creaking a mob we’ll all love—both in look and in gameplay.
