This is a fan request to the Orlando Magic decision makers (ownership, marketing, game ops, PR, etc.) to have the #32 Shaquille O’Neal retired jersey banner, that is currently hanging in the Kia Center rafters, be updated to reflect the jersey that Shaq actually played in. #ChangeTheFont

The current Jersey banner reflects fonts that do not resemble the mid-‘90s Magic font style. All of the graphics and designs utilized on the day of the Shaq jersey retirement on February 13, 2024 were correct (and outstanding)…except for the actual jersey banner.

It is understood that the Orlando Magic decision makers were seeking uniformity and picked this font for the Shaq jersey banner as it matches the new ‘Sixth Man’ banner that hangs next to the Shaq banner in the rafters. That this font will be utilized for future jersey retirements. This is a mistake and something that Magic fans, media, and the global basketball community agree is a mistake.

Please update the Kia Center retired jersey banner so that it reflects the correct #32 Shaq jersey with the correct font. It would respect the fans, Shaq, and the franchise’s 35+ years of history. Below is a perfect example of what we want (credit Let’s Talk Magic - @_LetsTalkMagic)
