The Issue

My dog, Chief, was a perfectly normal, healthy dog his entire life. In 2022, he was vaccinated with rabies, bordetella, lepto, lyme disease and distemper. We were assured they were safe and effective. Shortly thereafter, he developed heart disease and throat cancer. I watched my sweet boy deteriorate and die in front of my eyes. Chief died because of over-vaccination and unsafe, toxic ingredients in these vaccines in 2025. Thousands of pet owners across Texas share similar heartbreaking stories of their beloved pets suffering seizures, cancers, heart disease, hemorrhages, and permanent neurological damage after receiving mandatory vaccines and unnecessary boosters they thought were safe. The current state law mandates a yearly rabies booster without considering the potential side effects, individual health conditions, or even the weight of pets. These laws disregard scientific evidence showing that over-vaccination can lead to severe health conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, cancer, organ failure, seizures, and death. The goal of this petition is to advocate for a revision of the pet vaccine mandates in Texas. We demand that the Texas State Legislature collaborate with veterinary experts to design a more flexible, science-based vaccination schedule that prioritizes the health and safety of our pets, and lead the country in being the first state to accept blood titers as proof of immunity to rabies and other infectious diseases. Vaccine protocols should be tailored to individual animal needs and risk factors, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Research and transparency are paramount. We urge that independent studies be published to the public on the effects of pet vaccines and establish safety guidelines to ensure that vaccines delivered to our pets are safe and non-toxic. Veterinary offices should have thimerosol and mRNA free vaccines available all the time.

We also call for vaccine manufacturers to disclose all ingredients and potential side effects of pet vaccines to facilitate informed decisions by pet owners and veterinarians. These ingredients and side effects pamphlets should be readily available in veterinary offices.

By signing this petition, you are helping to protect the health and well-being of our beloved pets in Texas against unnecessary and potentially harmful vaccinations. Together, we can encourage safer practices and policies that safeguard our four-legged family members. Please sign and share this petition to enact necessary change.
