My brother, Manuel Guardiola, “Meme”” was sentenced to 35 years for drug conspiracy.   There was never concrete evidence to show that he was guilty and yet he got 35 years. He has been in federal prison for almost 19 years.. His release date is 2035.   We all know someone close that has made a wrong choice, and has had consequences, but my brother was punished harshly.   We all miss him, and think that the almost 19 years that he's been locked up is more than enough. He is a very kind, caring , and loving human being that deserves a second chance in life. Half of his life has been behind closed walls. Where you can’t enjoy the fresh air that we do everyday. Our President, Donald Trump gave inmates and their family hope when he said, “OPPORTUNITY MUST BE GIVEN TO ALL CITIZENS.” “REFORMING PRISONS AND HELPING FORMER INMATES WHO SERVED THEIR TIME GET A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.”  He is not a murderer,  or a child molester . His sentencing was unjust. When you’re being convicted in a Federal Prison, you know that you will not get sentenced with  less time, unless you blame others. Well my brother didn’t say , what he did not know. He got a worse punishment than what real criminals get. We need to stop giving harsh punishments, and focus more on helping inmates get educated while in there. People make bad choices, but they deserve a second chance in life.  Please help him get a second chance. He deserves a chance to be out in society, and try to live a normal life. We can't turn back time, and give him all the years that he's lost without his family, but we can try to help him start to live his life the way he should be living. Just like all the other people out here that also made bad choices, but were given the chance to be out free!   Please sign our petition, and let’s all be his voice out here in the free world.  Let's try to make the change, and help my brother get out of prison. 19 years is enough!!!!!
