This rare disease, maple syrup urine disease, is an almost deadly disease, yet its name is undermining the serious effects that come with the disease. This petition is being started to hopefully change it to the scientific name, Branched-Chain Ketoaciduria, which can be simply abbreviated to BCK. The hope of this petition is to give people with MSUD a public space to openly talk about their disease instead of hiding behind this demeaning name.
