Students at Bingham High School are struggling to find parking due to the change in the parking system. Seniors especially, because of their various schedules and circumstances, are affected. In the past, there was a raffle held for the juniors to give out parking passes. Not all Juniors got parking passes. This made our already small parking lot manageable and there were available parking spots for all the Seniors and some Juniors. This year, parking passes were given to all the Juniors. The parking lot is overpacked.

Seniors, by nature of managing credits in prior years, have the luxury of loose schedules - coming late to school, or leaving early.  This is in addition to schedules that necessitate transportation by car - namely work release and JTEC. For all those named, the mismanagement of the parking passes has destroyed, in practicality, the ability to have these schedules, and has put in jeopardy work release and JTEC programs altogether.

Instead of putting the need for parking passes, and the ability to reasonably have access to a spot in proper priority, it seems school administration has simply given grease to a squeaky wheel of those who simply 'want' a parking pass, without a needs based analysis done whatsoever - not to mention the situation of too few parking spots for how many passes were issued.

Things need to change. Students need to have a place to park and come to school. The parking lot is very dangerous because it is a fight to get a parking spot. If there is no change, there will be ticket after ticket, students stressing in school about parking, jeopardized education due to not being able to find transportation to school, and a lot of frustrated people. 

School has only been in session for a week and this is already a major problem. We need people to take a stand by signing this petition so we can make a change in Bingham parking.
