Change HOTS tower aggro back to heroes

Change HOTS tower aggro back to heroes
The Issue
In the game Heroes of the Storm (HOTS), the recent changes to tower aggro have caused significant disruption in gameplay. With tower aggro now focusing on picking off 5-10+ minions one by one instead of targetting heroes, the ability to defend effectively has been diminished severely. Defenders are almost aways at a disadvantage. This change negates the effectiveness of the -40 armor reduction because it doesn't even have the chance to trigger against players. Furthermore, it also encourages fully macro oriented gameplay, and takes away from the fundamental aspects of the game as a whole. Blizzard has described HOTS as a "raucus team brawler." The game is meant to encourage team based engagements over objectives, strategic camp timings, and cordinated gameplay. Losing defensive tower aggression on attackers has made certain cheesy heroes extremely strong. Most players dislike losing a building to one nazeebo, azmo or greymane because of the buffed minions and lack of tower aggro on selective heroes.
As a dedicated player, I've experienced firsthand how this shift reduces the competitive edge and excitement that comes with skilled plays under turret pressure. The beauty of HOTS has always been its fast-paced, strategy-rich environment where every decision matters. By directing aggro away from heroes, we lose a crucial defensive element of towers that allows certain heroes with summons and dive potential to create unfair scenarios. This issue is further exacerbated by the 25% attack speed granted to minions when pushing a tower.
Moreover, this change affects not just hardcore players but also the general gameplay experience. New and casual players take longer to understand these mechanics, making HOTS less attractive compared to other games offering a more intuitive learning curve. It's critical for the health of the game that we preserve aspects that reward skillful play while maintaining accessibility for new players.
We need Blizzard to recognize the community's desire for a more balanced aggro system that doesn't sideline the intricacies and tactical engagements HOTS is loved for. By reverting the tower aggro focus back to heroes, we encourage a healthier, balanced, and more engaging play experience that supports both competitive and casual players.
Please join me in urging Blizzard to reconsider and change HOTS tower aggro settings back to focusing on heroes, ensuring that the enthusiasm for strategic gameplay remains strong. Sign this petition to bring back the thrill and skill-based gameplay that makes HOTS more of a strategic game of chess, rather than a game of cheesing towers.
