My name is Amanda Head. My friend Sontana Johnson and I were both born and raised in Parsons, KS, and we are asking for your support, and your signature, to change the name of Glenwood Park to Douglass Memorial Park. We wish to change the name not only to memorialize and pay tribute to the Douglass School that was razed here in the early 1960s, but also to pay homage to those in the Black Community that have come before us. By making this change, our hope is to bring the community together and bring education about our city’s history to help pave the way for our future: our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and so on.

Our hope and intention can be implemented with your help. That is why we are asking you for your support and your signature.
