Coppell High School's Homecoming is a significant event that many students anticipate each year, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to participate in a cherished school tradition. However, the current scheduling of Homecoming has inadvertently excluded a vital group of students from participating: the Coppell Varsity Marching Band.

This year's Homecoming date conflicts with the Bands of America (BOA) Dallas Mid-Cities competition, where our talented marching band is set to compete. Their participation in this prestigious competition brings pride to our school and allows the students to share their marching band music nationally.

Excluding these students from participating in Homecoming is an oversight that can easily be corrected. By rescheduling the Homecoming date, we can ensure that all students, including those in the marching band, have the opportunity to partake in this fundamental high school experience.

The Coppell Varsity Marching Band is a cornerstone of our school spirit, dedicating countless hours to perfecting their craft and representing our school with dignity and talent at every competition. Their absence from Homecoming would not only diminish their high school experience but also leave a noticeable gap in the event's celebrations.

We urge the Coppell High School administration to recognize the importance of this issue and take action by changing the Homecoming date. By doing so, the administration can demonstrate its commitment to inclusivity and ensure that every student has the chance to engage in school traditions, fostering greater school unity and spirit.
