Change CCS Date for Prom

Change CCS Date for Prom
The Issue
Badminton CCS is planned to be on May 14th, which is in direct conflict with many senior prom dates. Schools affected include: (but are not limited to) Palo Alto High School, Cupertino High School, Lynbrook High School, and dozens of other schools in both upper and lower divisions. Due to COVID-19, proms of 2020 and 2021 have been canceled or heavily modified. Thus, most upperclassmen have not gotten to go to prom, and being a badminton player could mean that we never will. We are requesting that the date for CCS would be reconsidered to either 5/15 or 5/21, or a different date can be discussed with the appropriate organizers.
What is CCS: The California Central Coast Section Playoffs is a tournament hosted for each high school sport. For badminton, each school within the designated section (Central Coast for us) is allowed to send their best players from each event (boys & girls singles, boys & girls doubles, and mixed) to compete in a tournament for school recognition. Winning this tournament is the biggest honor an athlete can have within high school sports.
