In the Roblox game Dandy's world, the 2025 Christmas update has now changed Ginger (a christmas event toon's) ability drastically to what it previously was. This is being referred to as a "buff" while it is in fact a nerf of her character. She previously had the same ability as Cosmo, allowing herself to grant one of her hearts to another toon whose health was depleted, but with a longer range to counter her slow speed and longer cooldown. Now, she has been changed to have an ability that uses tapes, just like the main toon Sprout. Her ability's range has also been shortened. This heavily decreases her viability as a playable toon, especially in pro runs. Her new ability costs 100 tapes to heal the hearts of toons, it also has shortened her healing range. This raises some big issues while playing as her, primarily in pro/long runs. Having an ability that costs tapes requires the user to need to collect tapes, either through machines, running around to grab them, or earning the extra 10 tapes at the end of each floor. As there is only 4 machines per floor at the start of the game, and the elevator only gives 10 per floors survived, the most viable way of getting tapes is to grab them off the floor and use items off the floor for tapes as well. This works especially well for the toon named Sprout, as this toon has a high movement speed stat with his being 4/5 stars. Sprout's ability itself is great too, but the issue arises with this ability being passed to Ginger as well. Ginger has 2/5 stars movement speed, making her among the most slowest toons in the game. Making it so her ability costs tapes would require a lot more movement from her to collect those tapes. On top of fully changing her ability, they have reduced her healing range drastically as well. As a result of this, the slow, 2 star speed toon, needs to run around a LOT more, which simply isn't good for runs when healing time is critical. Upon discussion with many other pro players, I have found that most dislike this change in her ability. She has also been in the game with this ability for almost an entire year as well, making this change feel very delayed and unneeded. We are petitioning to change her ability back to how it was, as the new one is a copy of Sprout'd ability, and makes her overall less playable and less unique of a character.
