Change Ammons Middle School’s Unfair Rules

Change Ammons Middle School’s Unfair Rules
The Issue
i attend herbert a. ammons middle school and i have recently been affected by many rules that are unfair to many.
our problem with the tardy rules: yesterday i was on my way to class from all the way upstairs to outside when suddenly they stopped me and tons of over kids in the cafeteria. they sat us down and yelled at us for being late to class. they told us if it happened a second time, we would get a referral. we only have 5 minutes to get to class, and it isn’t enough. i only stopped in the hallways once to ask a single question, but that’s not why i was late, it’s because i didn’t have enough time, how am i supposed to get upstairs to downstairs when the halls are incredibly crowded? they won’t listen to us and continue to blame it on us, please help us make a change.
our problems with dress code: i saw my friend get dress coded for having a tiny rip in her jeans, by a MALE staff member. when right next to her was another male with ripped jeans that were incredibly ripped. that’s not the only thing i’ve seen, one time i was wearing a skirt and i got dresscoded for that skirt. by another male staff member, why was he looking there anyway? i’ve seen many boys in ammons get away with wearing tank tops, ripped jeans, etc. my friend had a cropped shirt on, it was barely cropped. another MALE staff member pointed it out and dresscoded her. one of my friends told me about her getting dress coded BECAUSE HER JACKET WAS CLOSED. it is incredible how students have to stress about these unfair rules. + some people even got a referral
