With ABBA VOYAGE set to end their residency in London near the end of 2026, I propose an idea of the next band to take over the arena - Gorillaz.

Gorillaz, the virtual band project of Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, has never quite reached its full potential as a virtual band. Aside from special performances at award shows featuring holograms (which weren't accessible to the public), interviews with the characters, and early albums presented as created by them, Gorillaz have never been able to deliver a truly immersive on-stage experience with the characters for fans around the world to see. Many people want this, and I think the show given from ABBA is a perfect example of what they could achieve.

In the ABBA Voyage show, the four core members are seen fully performing - vocals and instruments clear and in tune, backed by a live band that blends both the live visuals and sound perfectly. Seeing this show just recently, it truly felt like I was watching ABBA in real time. This could be very much achieved with Gorillaz. The show can still have the four characters - 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel, playing their perspective instruments, along with 2D's vocals, whilst still being backed by a band with anything necessary to keep the songs sounding amazing. And much like ABBA Voyage and the changes in costumes as "acts" during the show, this could also be done with Gorillaz' Phases, servings as flashbacks to the early years, especially given the 25th anniversary celebrations of the band and Kong Studios recently coming back. Alternatively, Gorillaz could stay in their current forms as virtual performers during the show, still performing songs old and new for the fans that love them. Visuals are key to Gorillaz, and this would not only take things to the next level for the band, even so long after they started, but also be world-breaking, never-before-done in the history of music.

I really hope that this can happen one day, it would be my absolute dream to finally see the Gorillaz characters live on stage for the first time in a long time! Please get the message out!
