As a engineering program graduate and annual donor to various programs and departments at UC Berkeley I have finally become completely exasperated and fed up with Professor Brian A. Barsky's attacks on students and programs at my beloved alma mater.  His continued disparaging remarks and insensitive comments about the University continuing to fund and maintain athletics programs at the Division I level have finally reached a breaking point for me. He continually lies to the media regarding various aspects of the athletics department and athletics programs at UC Berkeley.  He has fought for many years to get the athletics department disbanded and is now resorting to further lies and distortions of the truth.  He is clearly uncomfortable with the diversity of the student population at Berkeley and clearly fails to embody the true spirit of what it means to be a member of the UC Berkeley community - striving for success in all endeavors, being open to diversity of thought, and reaching new heights in all programs. His latest efforts to gut the UC Berkeley athletic department, by lying to the San Francisco Chronicle and starting a petition to remove the Head Strength & Conditioning coach for football, is the last straw. Professor Barksy has proven that he does not have the best interest of UC Berkeley at heart and is clearly pushing his own narrow minded agenda against multi-culturalism on campus. He must be removed from his faculty position immediately.  Any employee, in any other walk of life, that spoke to the media about his employer and co-workers in such a disparaging manner would have been fired long ago. It is time to let Professor Barsky go.  Please join me and sign this petition.
