Our beloved town, Signal Mountain, is known for its progressive attitudes and welcoming environment. In keeping with this spirit, it is essential to show our support for events that celebrate and uplift traditionally marginalized communities—like Outdoor Chattanooga's Girls, Gays, and Theys hike for the LGBQTIA2S+ community and its allies. These inclusive gatherings not only foster unity and acceptance but also contribute to the diverse fabric that makes our society vibrant and resilient. While 6.3% of Tennessee residents identify as LGBTQTIA2S+, Tennessee is one of the frontrunners in anti-LGBTQ+ attitudes in the nation. As such, it's crucial that we, the residents of Signal Mountain, stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA2S+ cohort and endorse initiatives that echo our town's ethos of love, inclusivity, and celebration of diversity.
