I am personally drawn to this cause, as I deeply believe in the power of free expression. Freedom to voice one's opinions, to engage in passionate discourse, is paramount in a functioning democracy. Yet, there is a growing concern that these fundamental rights are under threat in the UK. Our present Government seems to be diminishing our democratic rights and freedom of speech for their benefit through oppressive means and threats. The United States has robust protections for freedom of speech that serve as a standard for many across the world. In the UK, we deserve the same level of protection.

Given these concerns, it's clear that we, in the UK, must fight for our democratic rights, including freedom of speech – a principle on which our nation has long prided itself. This is not only crucial for me but imperative for our nation to maintain the democratic standard that our country requires.
