I am a student troubled by rules that unfairly restrict our fundamental rights and freedoms. Our school - an institution that should promote social interaction, personal development, and self-expression - . We are not allowed to communicate in the hallways. Freedom of expression outdoors is stifled, including banning simple activities like chewing gum outside of school hours.

These rules not only defy patterns seen in thriving educational environments worldwide but also contradict widely accepted educational standards promoting student collaboration and expressiveness. Research indicates that student interaction and autonomy contribute to positive learning experiences, with communication fostering deeper understanding and collaboration.

It seems our school is focusing more on control than on providing students with a conducive learning environment. This is not just about a ban on conversation in hallways or the right to chew gum outdoors. This comes down to the basic rights of students to express themselves and learn in a nurturing, positive environment.
