Challenge the Unjust Dismissal of Our Volleyball Coach
Challenge the Unjust Dismissal of Our Volleyball Coach
The Issue
As a member of the volleyball team, I am deeply incensed and disappointed by the recent termination of our coach - a figure of support, guiding us within the court and in our future. Our unjustly dismissed coach was a beacon of unwavering encouragement, providing us both support and constructive feedback that helped us grow as both athletes and individuals.
For many teams, true success can be solely determined by an engaging and skilled coach. Our coach was exactly that. Not only did he provide motivation to several of our athletes, but he encouraged them to pursue a higher education and a higher level within the sports that we play. He advocated for students to take college seriously, and provided us with connections through our local community college, East Los Angeles College. Statistical analysis also aligns with this sentiment; according to a survey by the National Alliance for Youth Sports, 70% of young athletes tend to quit sports by age 13 because of a lack of capable, supportive coaching. By dismissing our coach with no valid reason, the school administration is overlooking these crucial statistics, potentially harming our team's cohesion and performance.
We urgently call upon our school administration to reevaluate their decision and investigate the circumstances surrounding this incautious termination. Our beloved coach deserves respect and fair treatment. Our coach, Memo, has added value within the volleyball team and school community, and ignoring it will only result in a disservice to the students and to the spirit of the sport.
This petition aims to spotlight this unjust termination and demand proper action. It is our plea for justice, fairness, and integrity in the face of seemingly baseless decisions that limit our progress as a team, and as individuals. Your support is vital to bring change to our community and ensure fair treatment for all faculty members. Please, sign this petition to stand against unjust dismissals and for the reinstatement of our coach.
