Challenge the Toronto Transit Commission's Master Sign Up Policy

The Issue

As a dedicated employee of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), I find myself in a challenging situation due to the organization's master sign up policy. This policy has been in place for many years and has forced countless employees, including myself, into roles that do not suit our family dynamics.

The master sign up policy is based on seniority. Those lower in seniority are often compelled to accept jobs they didn't initially apply for. In my case, as a parent with young children who need to be picked up from school, I am now required to work night shifts because of my position on the seniority list.

This change not only disrupts my family life but also comes with a significant wage reduction. It is becoming increasingly difficult for me and others like me at TTC to make ends meet due to these job changes enforced by this policy.

We believe that an organization as large and influential as TTC should prioritize its employees' welfare alongside its operational needs. We urge TTC management to reconsider this master sign up policy and develop more flexible job assignment strategies that respect both seniority and individual circumstances.

Please join us in calling upon the Toronto Transit Commission management team to review their policies and ensure fair treatment for all their employees regardless of their position on the seniority list. Sign this petition today!
