Challenge the Overturned Conviction in Lesandro Junior Guzman Feliz's Murder Case

Challenge the Overturned Conviction in Lesandro Junior Guzman Feliz's Murder Case
The Issue
My younger brother, Lesandro Junior Guzman Feliz, was brutally murdered at the tender age of 15 by a ruthless street gang. We believed justice had been served when a first-degree murder conviction was handed down. However, our nightmare continues as this conviction has recently been overturned by an appellate court, and Jonaiki Martinez Estrella will have the possibility to be released on parole once he has served the time of his new sentence.
Lesandro, known as Junior to us all, was not just another statistic in the rampant gang violence that plagues our cities. He was a beacon of hope for our family and his community; his life cut short in such a brutal manner is an unbearable tragedy that we live with every day.
In 2018 alone, there were 1,180 murders committed by gangs across America (source: FBI National Gang Report). This staggering number underscores the urgency and importance of holding these criminals accountable for their actions. Overturning convictions like my brother's only serves to embolden these violent groups and perpetuates a cycle of violence that claims more innocent lives each year.
We are appealing to you today not just for my family but also on behalf of all families who have lost loved ones due to senseless gang violence. We must ensure justice is served and upheld consistently.
Please join us in challenging this overturned conviction and demanding justice for Lesandro Junior Guzman Feliz once again. Sign this petition now!
