Challenge Mental Health Stigmas

Challenge Mental Health Stigmas

The issue

Too often our young people wrestle with the stigma of mental health, a critical issue that requires acknowledgment, understanding, and action. The many stigmas around mental health prevent the affected youth from seeking necessary support and care. In Australia, approximately 14% of 4 to 17 year olds experience a mental health problem each year, amounting to 560,000 Australian children and adolescents in any one year. The worst part? Only half of the affected youth receive treatment due to the fear of stigma. This petition is a step towards creating awareness around this crisis, fostering an environment that treats mental health issues as a public health priority. It calls on mental health organisations, schools, and the government to increase their support to the youth struggling with mental health challenges. Sign this petition to challenge the stigma and push for more support for our young people. Stand for a world where mental health is seen, understood, and appropriately addressed.
