Withdraw the proposal to build a 24-hour McDonalds drive-thru and restaurant on the corner of Reynolds Road and Canning Highway, Applecross

Withdraw the proposal to build a 24-hour McDonalds drive-thru and restaurant on the corner of Reynolds Road and Canning Highway, Applecross
The issue
Local residents feel bullied by McDonalds!
McDonalds continue to push their way into the suburb of Applecross despite widespread community opposition and after already having their application refused to build a large, noisy and smelly, double story fast food operation complete with 24 hour drive thru, next to local residents bedroom windows.
Local residents are surprised and disappointed with McDonalds appealing the State Governments Joint Development Assessment Panel’s (JDAP) decision to reject the proposal. The 5 member JDAP voted unanimously to refuse the application as it did not comply with State and Local Panning Schemes and was expected to result in traffic and safety problems, in addition to adversely affecting the amenity in the area. There are two primary schools within close proximity to the proposed site, one being located at the end of street!
Our local community needs your support to Say No To McDonalds on Reynolds Road!
If McDonalds can use its global size to muscle into areas where they are NOT wanted and build literally next to our homes, they may later on use this example as a precedent and build next to countless other homes in Australia and destroy ordinary people’s lives and quiet enjoyment.
McDonalds are asked to RESPECT local council planning laws and RESPECT the wishes of the neighbouring residents and the local community by withdrawing this proposal.
Unfortunately, McDonalds have an aggressive track record with forcing its way into areas where they are not wanted here in Australia. Keep McDonalds honest and accountable for their actions and the impact they can have on the lives of the Australian people. Please sign our petition to stop McDonalds from building next to our homes now and potentially your home in the future.
