Boycott The Stock Shop Glendale, Az.
The Issue
Folks,
on November 21, 2020 Greg Mares a twenty year member of the Hispanic Community Forum and a licensed counselor for Chicanos Por La Causa along with Jewell Medina a PHD candidate and instructor at the University Of New Mexico had a terrible racist experience at The Stock Shop in Glendale Az. where an employee and her family threatened and physically blocked the entrance to the door of our car over a misunderstanding with a cell phone at the counter. The employee and her family threatened to have us arrested. They also stated that we looked like a thief and a vagrant. When the police failed to arrest us the employee and her family continued to verbally assault us with racist derogatory names. No human being deserves this kind of treatment, but more importantly in a city like Glendale Az. where Hispanics are prevalent. White supremacy is alive and well.
I ask you to support me in removing this employee and request the store take appropriate disciplinary action toward the employee at The Stock Shop in Glendale, Az.
A brown community like Glendale Az. does not need racists like this employee. How can someone feel the need to take such drastic measures over a misunderstanding about a cell phone error at a cashier counter in a pet feed store. The lack of humanity expressed is disgusting.
Thank you,
Jewell Medina and Greg Mares
