Prom upholds a very important role in boosting confidence among high schoolers to socialize in groups and be confident in public gatherings. It's an important tradition and rite of passage for the students. The whole purpose of prom, or any school-sponsored formal, is to give young people the chance to develop their social skills which somehow gets forgotten amidst the pressure of studies. Hanging out with their peers brings about genuine change in a pupil's listening and speaking skills.

Prom has been an integral part of western education in western countries. It is however looked down upon in a country like India. Since we have adopted western subjects why not adopt a social gathering which is meant to bring about improvement in basic skills. Indians have always accepted the beneficial aspects of other cultures and thus again. Our immortal Indian culture won't get affected just by a mere gathering. It's high time we eliminate the taboos associated with PROM and enforce it in schools all over India to give students their chance to express themselves.

Thus, prom brings the students together and gives them amazing memories of high school which they'll cherish for the rest of their lives.
