STOP CENTERPOINT-ENTEX!!

STOP CENTERPOINT-ENTEX!!
The Issue
Canaan Missionary Baptist and St.John Missionary Baptist Churches of Marshall, Texas and some residents of their surrounding communities are facing the loss of natural gas services from CenterPoint Entex.
Entex has filed an application to abandon services with the Railroad Commission of Texas, which regulates the oil and gas industry in our state. Entex states that it is not economically feasible to take care of its customers equipment needs, even though records show that the company had over $9.6 billion in revenues last year with gross profits of over $2.5 billion!
This is a prime example of corporations putting "profit before people"! These churches and communities have been a part of and served Marshall, Harrison County, Texas since about 1870, shortly after slavery ended. Discontinuing natural gas service to these communities would be unfair and would place undue burdens on long time, elderly Entex customers.
Entex has offered to convert the appliances for churches and residents to propane and provide one full tank. Propane is about three times more expensive than natural gas. Evidently Entex does even not think this is fair or it might have been presented to the customers in more friendly fashion.
It appears that the application request was timed to catch customers of guard, during the holiday season, and rush it through, hoping no one would respond! The application was submitted to the Railroad Commission on November 8, 2018. Entex asked for confirmations by November 22nd (Thanksgiving Day)! Many affected customers did not receive the notice until the day after Thanksgiving.
