Congressional candidate Cenk Uygur, stop promoting a genocidal party - The Young Turks.
The Issue
Demand that CA 25th congressional candidate Cenk Uygur stops promoting a foreign, genocidal political party, The Young Turks, in the United States.
Today, on December 12, 2019, the United States Senate unanimously passed S.Res. 150, officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide. The resolution records that it is “the policy of the United States to commemorate the Armenian Genocide,” which spanned from 1915 to 1923, murdering an estimated 1,500,000 Armenians by the Ottoman Empire, current day Turkey. The genocide was orchestrated by the ruling political party in Turkey, The Young Turks.
As Americans and citizens of the world, we must take a resolute stance against war crimes. We must denounce genocide sympathizers and genocidal symbolism. It is absolutely unacceptable for a United States congressional candidate to be promoting a genocidal, foreign political party, The Young Turks, in the United States Congress.
The Young Turks is not just an online “news source,” it is a foreign political party responsible for barbaric killings of an estimated 3,500,000 minorities in Turkey in 20th century. The symbolism attached to The Young Turks is a grave insult to the survivors of the genocide of Armenian, Greek, Assyrian, Chaldean, Syriac, Aramean, Maronite descend and other Christians. It is not ok to promote genocidal symbolism in the United States Congress and around the world.
To understand the gravity of the symbolism behind The Young Turks, consider the following:
1. Would it be ok to promote the Nazi Party, responsible for the Holocaust, in the United States Congress?
2. Would it be ok if a German immigrant ran for the U.S. Congress while promoting the Nazi Party?
3. Would it be ok if a German immigrant, a sympathizer of the Nazi Party, profited in the United States by promoting Nazi symbolism?
If you answered “NO” to any of the questions above, you have a duty. Join us in demanding that Cenk Uygur changes the name of his enterprise. We demand that Cenk Uygur stops promoting a foreign, genocidal political party - The Young Turks - in the United States.
