How many times have you been at Lake Lurleen State Park in Coker, AL, and needed to be able to get cell phone signal, whether to call for emergency assistance, tell family/friends where you are located, or just to connect with someone? Although we completely agree with getting away and disconnecting while at a state park, there are still times when connectivity is critical for safety. Wouldn't it be nice to have the option of using your phone if needed (and it could be tucked safely away for the remainder of your trip)? Please join us in letting cell phone companies know that NOW is the time to improve cell phone service in the area. Cellular phone companies cite cost of tower installation as their primary reason for not improving service in rural areas so let's show them how many people would be impacted by this improvement. I've tried to get our Congressman on board but have failed so now it's time to hear from the people- hopefully we can show enough need that the companies will act on their own accord.
