We, the undersigned residents of north Goa, request the District Administration, Goa Police and Goa State Pollution Control Board to strictly enforce the legal restrictions on firecrackers and noise pollution after 10:00 p.m.

Firecrackers are frequently being burst until midnight and beyond, causing sleep disturbance, anxiety and distress to infants, senior citizens, patients, people with sensory sensitivities, pets, birds and other animals. The sudden explosive noise also affects students and working residents who need peaceful nights.

We respect religious and cultural celebrations. This petition does not seek to prevent lawful celebration,it asks that celebrations remain within notified hours and noise limits.

We request:

Strict enforcement of the prohibition on firecrackers after 10:00 p.m.
Police patrols in repeatedly affected neighbourhoods.
A dedicated WhatsApp number or helpline for real-time complaints.
Prompt action against repeat violations and sellers of prohibited firecrackers.
Public announcements before festivals explaining permitted timings.
Protection of designated silence zones around hospitals, schools and courts.
Publication of complaints received and enforcement action taken.
Peaceful sleep and public health are rights shared by every resident.
We request immediate preventive and enforcement measures.
