North Carolina Progressives have had to settle with New Democrats being the only Republican opposition for a long time, in this new era of politics, I feel we need a new Progressive voice to replace Thom Tillis lead NC into the future...

As the 2020 Elections are right around the corner, many people have announced or are speculated to run. While the Presidential Race has many progressives thus far (Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, Mike Gravel), the NC Senate Race has yet to have a true Progressive to enter the race.

That is why that I have initiated a draft effort to make one run, the one I feel is the best choice for the job is former Asheville City Councilmember, Cecil Bothwell.

Bothwell is well known for kick-starting Asheville's Progressive Movement, as well as being one of few Atheist politicians to be elected to office. However the most notable thing he was known for was supporting Jill Stein in the General election after the Sanders Campaign was cheated out of the election.

He had previously ran for NC District 11 in 2012 because nobody else would, it's time to show him that we need him in the Senate.

His campaign in said House run had the endorsement of Congressional Progressive Chairman Raúl Grijalva and had a very progressive platform, most notably supporting a Medicare-For-All Single-Payer system before Bernie Sanders made the idea popular.

Hopefully Bothwell will heed the call, as we do not have much time to wait.
