Stop Outside Lands Expansion 

The new Outside Lands expansion weekend is conducted after the current Outside Lands festival weekend.  Another Planet Inc and Live Nation will gross over $50mm, yet the community receives $20k!

Moreover, the 3 year expansion lease can add more events to the Polo Field!

As an avid supporter of live music and a resident of the Golden Gate Park neighborhood, we were astounded by the disregard shown by Another Planet Inc. during their recent expansion of the Outside Lands festival – an expansion that was completed without any input from locals, and seems to have been approved under questionable circumstances. We therefore call on city officials to rescind the new three-year lease and return Outside Lands to its original format. In making such decisions, residents should be consulted and their views respected. Let's protect our park and maintain it as a space for everyone to enjoy. For the past few years, our beloved public park has been forcefully taken over by this corporation for three weeks each summer, causing disruption to our area and imposing on our day-to-day life. Without any consultation, they have now extended their festival footprint and secured a new three-year lease on the park.

Moreover, there are allegations that public officials were bribed into supporting this corporate invasion. We consider this an affront to the values of democracy, transparency, and respect for the community.

Golden Gate Park belongs to the residents of San Francisco – it is our shared space for recreation, relaxation, and enjoyment of nature. Corporate takeovers of public spaces undermine the very essence of community ownership, and set a worrying trend for the future.
