I am living proof of the ongoing oppression against minority ethnic groups in Pakistan. My voice, like many others advocating for the rights of minorities in our country, has been constantly silenced. We must not let this continue. For too long, the Baloch, Sindhi, Pakhtoon and Kashmiri minorities have been subjected to unjust treatment, discrimination, and outright violence. According to the Human Rights Watch, these communities have encountered severe human rights abuses, ranging from enforced disappearances to extrajudicial killings. The resilience these communities display, regardless of the circumstances, is impressive, to say the least. It speaks volumes of their strength; however, no one should have to live under such brutal conditions. It is high time that the Pakistan government take actionable steps towards ceasing these atrocities.
