CCTV for St. Mary's Road, Garston
CCTV for St. Mary's Road, Garston
The Issue
Dear Residents,
My name is Sam Gorst. I am resident of Garston and also a Liverpool City Councillor. Due to a lack of funding at Liverpool City Council, I am finding it increasingly difficult to fund the £8000 needed for CCTV that will link up to City Safe and Police.
I have met with council officers and we have found an ideal location for the CCTV camera.
The reasons I believe CCTV is needed is due to crime and anti-social behaviour that is reported to me via Police and local businesses.
There has been 2 sexual assaults on girls and young women on this road in the past 6 months.
There has been a number of burglaries that have put strain on new and fledging businesses.
There has been countless instances of anti-social and intimidating behaviour.
There has also been many parking infringements and traffic incidents and near-misses.
I will be appealing for funding from:-
• Police Crime Commissioner, Emily Spurrell (Violence Against Young Women and Girls)
• Merseyside Police
• Liverpool City Council
• Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram
• Central Government, Safer Streets Initiative
• Proceeds of Crime
• Potential 106 money from local development at Cressington Heath.
Please sign this petition to show that this is a cause that you care about and feel is necessary for Garston.
