Subject: Petition for Consideration of Grace Marks Due to Difficulty of Physics Question Paper Conducted on 4th March 2024
Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing this petition on behalf of the concerned students who appeared for the Physics examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 4th March 2024. The purpose of this petition is to bring to your attention the overwhelming difficulty level of the aforementioned examination and to request the provision of grace marks to mitigate the potential adverse impact on students' mental health and academic performance.
The Physics question paper administered on 4th March 2024 has been widely perceived by students and educators alike as exceptionally challenging. The complexity and intricacy of the questions exceeded the expected difficulty level, leaving many students feeling overwhelmed and anxious during the examination. As a result, there is a palpable concern among students regarding their ability to perform well and secure a satisfactory grade in this subject.
It is imperative to acknowledge that such a high-stakes examination, especially in a subject as crucial as Physics, plays a significant role in determining the academic trajectory and future prospects of students. The undue stress and pressure induced by an excessively difficult question paper can have detrimental effects on students' mental well-being, leading to increased anxiety, depression, and a decline in overall academic performance.
In light of the aforementioned circumstances, we earnestly urge the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the esteemed Education Minister to consider the following requests:
Provision of Grace Marks: We request the CBSE Board to consider granting grace marks to all students who appeared for the Physics examination on 4th March 2024. The provision of grace marks would help alleviate the undue burden placed on students due to the exceptionally tough nature of the question paper.
Reevaluation of Question Paper: We also urge the CBSE Board to conduct a thorough reevaluation of the Physics question paper to assess its difficulty level and ensure fairness in grading.
Long-term Measures: We implore the Education Minister and the CBSE Board to implement measures to prevent the recurrence of such situations in future examinations. This may include ensuring greater alignment between the syllabus and the question paper, as well as incorporating feedback from students and educators in the examination development process.
It is our sincere belief that the timely consideration of these requests will not only alleviate the immediate concerns of affected students but also uphold the principles of fairness, equity, and compassion in the education system.
We trust in the wisdom and benevolence of the esteemed Education Minister and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to address this matter with the utmost urgency and sensitivity.
Thank you for your attention to this petition. We eagerly await a favorable response that would provide much-needed relief to the affected students.
