CBSE Class XII Mathematics [041] Paper Tampering
CBSE Class XII Mathematics [041] Paper Tampering
The Issue
To: The Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
Date: March 10, 2026
Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Tampered QR Codes and Potential Security Breach in Class 12 Mathematics Examination (March 9, 2026)
Respected Chairperson,
We are writing to formally report a grave security lapse discovered during the Class 12 Mathematics Board Examination conducted on March 9, 2026.
It has been widely observed and documented that the unique QR codes printed on several sets of the question papers (including but not limited to Series RPSQ4, Set 2/3) were tampered with. Instead of containing the mandatory alphanumeric tracking data designed to ensure the paper’s authenticity and regional security, these codes redirected students to a viral internet meme ("Rickroll").
This is a matter of national academic security due to the following reasons:
Failure of Leak-Tracking Mechanisms: The QR code is a primary security feature intended to trace the origin of a paper in the event of a leak. By replacing this data with a third-party URL, the Board’s ability to verify the chain of custody for these papers has been completely neutralized.
Evidence of Unauthorized Access: The fact that a non-educational, external link was embedded into the official printing process indicates that unauthorized individuals had access to the final paper templates prior to distribution.
Inconsistency in Security Features: Reports indicate that while some sets (e.g., 65/1/1) maintained standard watermarks and codes, others lacked these features and contained the tampered QR codes. This inconsistency points toward a targeted breach in specific printing or distribution zones.
Our Demands:
A High-Level Inquiry: An immediate investigation into the printing and digital encryption process of the 2026 Mathematics paper to identify the source of this tampering.
Verification of Paper Integrity: A public statement clarifying whether the "Rickroll" redirection is linked to a wider paper leak, as the security tracking was intentionally disabled.
Fair Evaluation / Remastery: Given the psychological distraction and the potential compromise of the exam's fairness, we demand a lenient evaluation policy or a re-examination option for affected sets.
We trust that the Board will take this breach of "Digital India" standards seriously and won't "desert" the students who rely on the integrity of this system.
Sincerely, The Concerned Students of Class 12 (Batch 2026)
