Catholic Health Services: Stop using Sweatshop laundry JVK

Catholic Health Services: Stop using Sweatshop laundry JVK
The Issue
JVK Operations is a sweatshop healthcare laundry that washes sheets, gowns, and other soiled linens for Catholic Health Services of Long Island. JVK pays its workers poverty wages, has deplorable working conditions and is being investigated for alleged workers rights abuses.
Catholic Health Services of Long Island claims it, “seeks to contribute to the common good. The common good is realized when economic, political and social conditions ensure protection for the fundamental rights of all individuals and enable all to fulfill their common purpose and reach their common goals.” So why is Catholic Health Services of Long Island using sweatshop laundry JVK?
It’s time for Catholic Health Services of Long Island to live up to their own moral and ethical standards and choose a laundry company that respects its employee’s humanity by providing fair wages and benefits, safe working conditions and treats its workers with respect and dignity.
