I have been DC fan for a long time now. And ever since I heard of the new film slate in James Gunn’s reboot, especially after hearing some of the questionable casting choices for Superman Legacy (cough, cough, Nathan Fillion). We all want someone who is as perfect for the role as Christopher Reeve was for Superman, Hugh Jackman was for Wolverine and Robert Downey Jr. was for Iron Man. Someone with the right look, age, build and sense of character. Someone who not only looks like the character but could accurately portray who the character is. Which is why I think I speak for many people when I say Glen Powell fits the gold standard for a superhero like Booster Gold. I think he has what it takes to play that cocky, attention seeking showboat we all know and love. One of the best examples of his potential was his performance of Lieutenant Jake “Hangman” Seresin in Top Gun: Maverick. Sure there are other actors who have been nominated for the role. Ryan Gosling could be a good candidate as seen by his performance in Barbie, but he might be a little old for the role. Plus I don’t think he’s interested in superhero movies in general. Not only is Chris Pratt is a very worthy candidate for Booster Gold, but he’s worked with James Gunn before so if he were to audition for the role it wouldn’t be a problem. But he’s also a little old for the role. If we wanted to go younger and went with Will Poulter then it could be an interesting take. And auditioning for the role would be easy because he’s also worked with Mr. Gunn before. But out all of the possible actors the one I’d rather prefer most is ultimately Glenn Powell. So if you feel the same way I do about who should play the greatest hero you’ve never heard of, then give us a signature and share it with as many people as possible so we can make this happen!
