Do not pass Ordinance to Arrest 10 people gathering or violating a Health Officers order.
The Issue
Casper City Council is holding a work session April 14. They will discuss giving the police the authority to arrest citizens if more then 10 are together. Also it gives them the authority to enforce closing businesses etc.
This is unreasonable. Casper citizens are distancing. They do not need to be arrested, fined, and imprisoned due to COVID-19 guidelines.
This is landmark legislation that restrains life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We have a good Police Department, with good staff. They do not need this ordinance to serve and protect the public.
