Carroll County Maryland Public Schools’ dress code needs to change
Carroll County Public Schools dress code was last updated May 11, 2011. We believe its time for a change. The current county wide dress code states that “shirts shall: Cover the entire back i.e., no cutout backs, no shirts that tie in the back”. We should adjust the dress code to allow shirts with cutouts as long as no undergarments are shown.
The CCPS dress code also says “Shirts shall: Cover the midriff area, i.e., bottom of the shirt must meet the top of the lower attire at all times”. Instead, the dress code should be adjusted to allow midriff as long as no undergarments are showing and nothing shorter then your diaphragm.
Lastly, the dress code talks about how tank tops are considered “undergarments” and must be covered with a shirt. we believe the new dress code should allow tank tops as long as no undergarments are showing
We should be teaching young boys and girls to have confidence in what they wear and how they present themselves! No teenagers should be a distraction from dressing them selfs in a confident and comfortable way.
