When I was 12 years old, I made a mistake—a crime that continues to haunt me into adulthood. Despite my efforts to lead a life free from legal troubles, the consequences of my youthful error have become an inescapable shadow, tarnishing every aspect of my life. I am unable to use consumer services, hire an attorney willing to represent me, or even walk freely in society.
The influence of a powerful family, the Carltons, has marked me as an untouchable. Their power and connections placed me on a list that bars me from basic services others take for granted. This unjust branding has made me the target of relentless harassment by law enforcement and informants, all goading me towards a reaction for which they can arrest me.
The impact is devastating. Jobs are not an option for me because law enforcement officials visit my workplaces, effectively rendering me unemployable. The harassment extends to my home, where police and informants concoct scenarios intended to provoke a reaction from me. Frighteningly, it happened recently; after years of suffering, they finally succeeded in baiting me into a charge.
This situation has seeped into every corner of my life, affecting my children and my livelihood. I've even experienced neighbors inciting chaos, repeatedly harassing me and my family with loud honking and dangerous driving by my home. Yet, nothing happens to them while I face false arrests for merely documenting these occurrences.
This plea is not just for me but for my family and those like me. I seek justice and an end to this unwarranted persecution.
