There are only so many ocean liner-era ships left, yet alone ones that are still sailing such as the Marco Polo. We know it is financially difficult to keep these historic vessels 'alive', but if enough determination and effort is made, historic figures such as the Marco Polo can in fact be saved. There are many people who have never seen the Marco Polo, and would love the opportunity to see her preserved to see some day. The vessel is full of potential, as well as an attraction in itself. The MS Marco Polo is a rare ship that stands out among other ships with its classic silhouette and funnel, and does not deserve to be scrapped, as it is a piece of history. Destroying it would sadden the hearts of ship enthusiasts alike, and would be a major loss in the dwindling list of historical vessels that still remain in existence. Please, hear our plea and don't let this historical vessel that means a lot to so many people fade away. Save the Marco Polo, and save a piece of shipbuilding, and engineering history.
