Newport KY has very litte park space, and no central neighborhood meeting areas in the business district.  However, a potential opportunity exists.  Imagine the surface parking lot containing the World Peace Bell between 4th and 5th streets in Newport could become a “Washington Park” (albeit smaller in scale) for the city of Newport.     Because it would be a place where residents would gather, it would also boost local business revenue and property values surrounding the park.    Think of the possibilities: farmers markets, movie nights, yoga, festivals, concerts, and more.  Learn more about the possibilties at http://newportpark.weebly.com.   We are a group of Newport residents working to make this a reality.  Help make this park happen by signing the petition!
