Care for every Student :Oppose Mandatory Online Class

The Issue

As concerned student ,  we believe that online classes pose significant challenges and limitations that detrimentally affect the quality of education and overall well-being of students. We urge you to reconsider this approach and explore alternative solutions that prioritize the holistic development and educational success of learners, Theres many reason why we need to address an mandatory online class first,Lack of Equitable Access: Online classes exacerbate existing disparities in access to technology and internet connectivity. Many students from low-income families or rural areas do not have reliable access to the necessary tools and resources, placing them at a disadvantage compared to their peers.

Digital Fatigue and Mental Health Concerns: Prolonged screen time and isolation associated with online learning contribute to digital fatigue and mental health issues among students. The absence of face-to-face interaction with peers and teachers can lead to feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression, hindering students' overall well-being.
Pedagogical Limitations: Online learning environments often lack the interactive and collaborative aspects of traditional classroom settings, impeding students' ability to actively engage with course materials and participate in meaningful discussions. Additionally, some subjects, such as hands-on laboratory experiments or performing arts, cannot be effectively taught online.

Quality of Instruction: Online classes may not provide the same level of quality instruction as in-person learning due to limitations in teacher-student interaction, feedback mechanisms, and personalized support. Students may struggle to receive timely assistance and clarification on course content, leading to gaps in understanding and academic achievement.
In light of these concerns, we urge you to reconsider the mandate for online classes and instead explore flexible and inclusive approaches that accommodate the diverse needs of students and ensure equitable access to education. This may include a hybrid model that combines online and in-person instruction, investing in infrastructure to improve internet connectivity and technology access, and providing additional support services to address mental health and academic challenges.

We believe that every student deserves access to a high-quality education that nurtures their intellectual, social, and emotional growth. By listening to the voices of students, parents, and educators, we can work together to create educational policies that prioritize the well-being and success of all learners.
