Knighthood

The Issue

It would be our honour to see Tom receive a Knighthood from The Queen on his 100th birthday

Story 'Tom's 100th Birthday Walk For The NHS.

Captain Tom Moore, is aiming to walk a hundred lengths of the back garden(which is 25m in length) before he is 100 years old at the end of the month.

So get behind Tom as he does 10 laps a day!

A bio on Tom:

Tom was born and brought up in Keighley, Yorkshire. He went to Keighley Grammar School and later completed an apprenticeship as a Civil Engineer. Tom went onto being enlisted in 8 DWR (145 RAC) at the beginning of the war, and in 1940 was selected for Officer training. He was later posted to 9DWR in India, and served and fought on the Arakan, went to Regiment to Sumatra after the Japanese surrender and returned to be Instructor at Armoured Fighting Vehicle School in Bovington.

After everything Tom has given to our country he is now trying to achieve his goal and so far has raised nearly £11m for the NHS.

we the general public would like to give something in return to Tom  and that is see him receive his Knighthood.

Given the pandemic that is ravishing the world at the minute it gives us all joy to see someone doing something so positive.

It is up to us to ensure that Tom’s achievement doesn’t go unnoticed by The Queen and The Government.
