Sakshi Gupta started this petition to Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjab CM

Delhi NCR is currently a GAS CHAMBER, all thanks to the crop residue burning in Punjab and Haryana. I visited Amritsar for 2 days and saw the fields burning on my way there. The kids cannot just breathe in such air.

I see my 3 year old breathing this poisonous gas on daily basis. We all are collectively responsible for this pollution to some extent. We want to have parks, clean air and playgrounds for kids but instead we are the ones who cut trees on regular basis in the name of development.

What is our future? What is the government doing in this situation?

Just providing few "Happy seeders" on subsidized rates is not the solution because they also run on diesel which is also the reason for air pollution.

The ONLY solution is to give farmers a Rs 100-200 per quintal bonus on paddy and make it conditional on their not burning even a single straw. They will manage the stubble either through machines or going back to manual harvesting which was practiced earlier. Educate the farmers about the I'll effects of the crop burning.

It's high time now. The government must act NOW.

I request Punjab government to strictly act in this situation.

All of us have to do something for this. Please plant more and more trees.

I request all of you to pass and share this petition as much as possible so that our government acts now and our kids can have a better future.
