There is a plan to demolish the current 34-unit 2 story Jetty Motel and replace it with a much larger 53-unit 4 story Jetty Resort. The proposed Resort will include a 240-seat restaurant, bar, and pool.

In his report, the Cape May city engineer determined that the Jetty Resort will need 131 parking spaces to accommodate one car per sleeping room, the employees, and the 240 restaurant/bar seats specified in the plans. However, the developers will be providing only 65 parking spaces, a shortage of 66 parking spaces! 

Beachgoers and their young families must often park several blocks away and walk to the Cove to enjoy its beauty and easy slope.  They will have to hold their child's hand while carrying their beach gear and navigate beer, beverage, and food trucks delivering to the Resort's restaurant and bar. An accident is waiting to happen in an already congested area of town!
