Here's some background info for some of you that have never heard of or played: Haunting Ground is a gem of a survival horror game that released for the Sony Playstation 2 console back in 2005 worldwide. Developed and published by Capcom, Haunting Ground bares striking similarities in gameplay, puzzle solving, setting, and atmosphere to two of Capcom's other horror series Clock Tower and Resident Evil. In Haunting Ground you take control of the heroine Fiona Belli along with her newly found canine companion Hewie (Hey, it's that dog...?) as they both work together to escape the estate Fiona finds herself trapped in after awakening from a car wreck. Fiona will find herself stalked by the residents of the estate as she progresses and uncovers the secrets of the estate and why she was brought there in the first place.

Haunting Ground is a stand alone title that I feel has not received enough credit and attention that it rightly deserves. I recently revisited this game and realized that a key reason it doesn't receive much recognition is due to it being confined to only the Playstation 2 console, except in Japan where it was re-released onto the Playstation Network's store as a Playstation 2 Classic. While there are original copies of Haunting Ground still in circulation the prices can be as high as $200 USD (Based off Amazon & Ebay searches) and the number of available copies aren't exactly high. This is not even taking into account that one must own an original Playstation 2 console or a backwards compatible Playstation 3 console in order to play it without emulation.

This brings me to my request to Capcom for a re-release of Haunting Ground for current and future platforms. Doing so would allow current and newer fans to enjoy a classic that for too long has been nearly inaccessible due to time. Ideally, seeing an HD remaster with tweaks to the gameplay and add-ons would be what I'd aim for with this petition. But I understand that an HD remaster would take time and resources, so even a re-release on PSN as a PS2 Classic would be greatly appreciated as well. I'm calling on all fans to please take part in this petition and circulate it around to show their support for this gem.
