Kansas is 1 of 4 states left in the United States to not move forward with legalization on the medical level. SB 171 and SB 135 both support legalization of medical cannabis. SB 171 is specifically geared towards veterans while 135 is for anyone with a medical condition. 

We need to legalize cannabis use medically not only to assist veterans but also anyone who prefers a more holistic approach to healthcare. Legalization would mean more job opportunities. Leading to more economic growth. Ultimately reducing crime rates. If we continue to keep medical cannabis illegal we are likely using unnecessary resources to arrest and prosecute innocent people trying to self medicate.

With fentanyl overdoses on the rise and cannabis being laced on the black market. We need to protect the community from this attack by regulating the cultivation and distribution process of cannabis in Kansas. We need to liberate the people by giving them safer means to self medicate.
