Cancel the Interdisciplinary Module "Project ID: Connecting the Dots" at Ngee Ann Polytechnic
The Issue
As a 3rd year student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I find myself burdened by an irrelevant module - Project ID: Connecting the Dots (PROID). This module, while designed to foster interdisciplinary learning, has proven to be more of a stress-inducing nightmare than an educational asset. The short deadlines for group assignments have added unnecessary pressure and detracted from my focus on relevant studies.
The crux of my concern lies in its irrelevance to my course and future career path. Instead of equipping me with skills pertinent to my upcoming internship and future profession, this module forces students into broad subjects that require collaboration with students from different diplomas. While teamwork is important, it should not come at the expense of specialized knowledge that we need for our respective fields.
It is crucial that our education system aligns with our career aspirations and prepares us adequately for real-world challenges. Unfortunately, this module falls short in providing such practical knowledge or skills.
Therefore, I urge Ngee Ann Polytechnic to reconsider its curriculum and cancel the Project ID: Connecting the Dots (PROID) module. Let's ensure that our education remains relevant and beneficial towards our individual career paths. Please sign this petition if you agree.
